The Lupus Foundation of America, Wisconsin Chapter’s 6th Annual “Strides for Lupus” will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007. The three-mile and one-mile walk will begin on the beautiful Mount Mary Campus in Wauwatosa, WI and continue through the Menomonee River Parkway. Walk starts at 11:00. Registration starts at 9:30.

“Strides for Lupus” was created to include YOU, our lupus patients, your families, friends and co-workers. Our goals are to raise funds and increase awareness of Lupus. All proceeds will fuel efforts to support, educate and advocate for lupus patients and their families.
How can you help? There are several ways that you can help to make this fundraiser a success! Please consider making a commitment to the LFA, Wisconsin Chapter, Inc. by assisting in one of the following ways:
Plan to attend “Strides for Lupus” on June 9, 2007 $20.00 per person; $10 per child (12 & under) advance registration $25.00 per person; $12 per child day of the walk Entry Fees include t-shirts, refreshments and entertainment.
Help raise additional funds by collecting pledges for “Strides for Lupus.” Sponsor yourself! By making the first contribution on your form, you will encourage others. We have an opportunity for families to gather with neighbors, friends, co-workers and clients to make a valuable contribution to the community. All participants can create their own fundraising web page. Simply logon to www.firstgiving.com/lupuswi and you can build your own personal online fundraising page for Strides for Lupus. This is a new and exciting way for you to reach out to your network of supporters and invite them to help us as we carry on our mission.
Be a team leader and ask your company to sponsor your team. Or ask your spouse, family members and friends to recruit a company team! Double your pledge dollars by checking to see if your company offers a company-match donation program. If you know of a company that would be interested in sponsoring our walk, please call 414-443-6400.
Volunteers are needed to place brochures for the walk at local businesses and at places you frequent: athletic clubs, pharmacies, restaurants, coffee houses, gas stations, schools, grocery stores, churches, and your workplace. Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, food, set-up and clean-up. For more information call 414-443-6400.
